Intersil to Demonstrate Performance Leadership in High-Speed Data Converters at Electronica 2008
ELECTRONICA, Munich, November 11, 2008 – Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ
Global Select: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of
high-performance analog solutions, today announced that it will demonstrate the
capabilities of several products in its growing line of high speed, extremely
low power data converters during Electronica 2008, November 11-14, in Hall A4,
Booth 207 at the New Trade Fair Centre in Munich, Germany.
Intersil’s innovative FemtoCharge® CMOS process, protected by over 32
patents, produces ADCs that use less power, achieve higher data speeds, take up
less silicon area and are more immune to substrate noise. Because these devices
scale with process geometries, they are also easier to integrate with digital
systems.
Intersil’s high-speed ADC portfolio features more than 50 production devices,
including pin-compatible families of 8-bit singles up to 350 MSPS, 10-bit
singles and duals up to greater than 500 MSPS and 12-bit singles and duals up to
greater than 500 MSPS. These devices use anywhere from one-half to one-fifth the
power of comparative data-rate devices and have won numerous industry awards
such as EETimes “Ultimate Products,” EDN’s “Hot 100 Products” and Electronic
Design’s “Best Electronic Design.”
Electronica 2008 marks the first opportunity to see these devices as part of
Intersil’s high-speed ADC portfolio. The demonstration will include evaluation
platform software that shows how to configure the converters for any
application, with adjustable skew, gain and offset; multiple power-down modes;
and configurable outputs through an easy-to-use SPI port.
