Intersil Corporation and German Tech Magazine Elektronik Praxis Launch Wikitronic
Industry’s First German-Language Semiconductor Wiki Will Debut at Electronica 2008, November 11-14 in Munich
ELECTRONICA, Munich, November 13, 2008 –
Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ
Global Select: ISIL), a world
leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog semiconductors,
and Elektronik Praxis, today announced the launching of Wikitronic™ the first
German-language wiki specifically focusing on semiconductors. The wiki, which
was developed jointly by the two companies, will be on display at both the
Intersil and Elektronik Praxis booths at Electronica 2008.
Wikitronic™ will be available through the Elektronik Praxis website and at
www.wikitronic.de Wikis are web pages or
websites that allow internet users to supply and edit content.
“Elektronik Praxis is proud to provide this service to design engineers and
students,” said Johann Wiesböck, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Elektronik
Praxis. “The way people and engineers are sharing information is rapidly
changing, and Praxis is not only facilitating this change, but will remain a
vital link throughout this evolution.”
Wikitronic™ is only a part of Intersil’s plan to find new and creative ways
of partnering with the global analog community, helping students and engineers
solve their design problems.
“German-speaking analog engineers will now have a self-healing, continually
improving forum to share information and ideas,” said David Loftus, Intersil’s
Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. “Although Intersil has
sponsored and helped develop the initial content, from this point forward the
content will be completely maintained by its users.”
